I had heard that song for 48 years and never made out the lyrics until a couple years ago when I finally looked them up. It was the same with a lot of Stones material. Street fighting man, Can't you hear me knocking, etc. Unintelligible.

It's cancel culture over what was probably a protest song written by a high-as-fuck nitwit that nobody understood in the first place.
