I *think* I finally figured out the issue. When there is an alert, it goes to all the moderators on the board. If one closes it, the rest of the moderators probably will NOT and therefore it remains an active notification (on their list). The best practice then, would be for the moderator to delete, rather than close the alert, after they take action.

The board is set to delete all notifications after 30 days, so I set it to one day to see if these will drop off for you.

Thing is, I did not create the thread, nor was any post of mine alerted on, unless somebody was making frivolous alerts.

Someone alerted on one of your posts in the second thread. That is on the moderator log and gamle-ged must have edited something.

As far as I can tell on the first thread, gamle-ged closed a report, but perhaps I didn't close it. I don't see any alerts on that thread.

Regardless, I deleted BOTH of those mod actions, so maybe THIS will clear it?

Let me know...

I found that gamle-ged closed a report and I deleted the report.

I deleted BOTH of those to see if your notifications will go away.

Another choice is to go to your notifications and click on settings. That will take you to a drop down menu and you can "unclick" any notifications you do not want to receive. However, I don't know if you have the option to do that for moderation notifications.

What could they possibly have alerted on?

That's fine. I don't know if other's are having the same issue of notifications not dropping off? I also don't understand why "mark all read" doesn't get rid of them.

The best thing I could find was about moderators having an active "alert" on their page. I delete or close them and they go away. I'm guessing it might be on Alec's page as he most likely never reads them. 8-)

Dunno.
