where's George?

Unread post by monsignor »

I suspect I might've missed something, and so this might sound like a stupid question.

Some weeks ago I half-read that George was ungracing us with his presence, but had the impression it was for only a couple of weeks or so. The reason he was doing this, I didn't see any explanation.

With the constant crumbling of the Biden-Harris-Pelosi administration, the morale of their supporters similarly nosedives, after which they post less and less and even disappear.

Come to think of it, has anyone seen Doc lately?

Those of us on this side have to be careful; we don't want this class of member to become totally extinct.

Perhaps we need to kiss their asses once in a while, to keep them on board?

Well, he was certainly the most vile member here.

He’s banned, just like the other left leaning members. Hmmm, wonders has any right wing member ever been banned here? Can’t remember any. Pretty soon there will be none, and you will have the new and improved cave you always wanted. Same posters, same echo chamber, just a marginally wider audience, cough.

Wow. Do you know why he was banned?

I figured he just got a day or two suspension for being so vile, nothing more than that.

One has to be careful about banning people, and George was so prolific I figured he was unbannable. One never wants to ban a prolific poster unless he reaches the same level of vileness as Clod Warrior, aka the MaskedDUer, and while the most vile poster here, George was far below that.

He's still an "Active Member". Not sure why someone would lie and say he was banned.

He was banned by Blue for an indefinite time. Also MaskedDUer.
Any blatant disruption of the rules (serious infractions other than day to day alerts) can lead to immediate banning by Admin or agreement of moderators for a total time as they see fit.

ADMINS CHOICE:

MaskedDUer (TBD for reinstatement)
George (TBD for reinstatement)

I do not, I asked here, and I also asked blue. I did a quick search and it seems he was abused quite a bit. I didn’t notice the mduer make any outrageous posts, but then again, we didn’t tend to end up in the same threads.

George was banned for a couple of weeks per moderator choice. That has been lifted for weeks.

Doc found this place too toxic to post even though he added to it with his sarcastic tripe everyday.

MDuer was voted off the island by a community vote. Normally, that wouldn't be a choice, but there were extenuating circumstances.

Vile posting is kinda analogous to speeding, not precisely so, but...

I speed while driving, pretty much all the time, save where safety is obviously and likely to be a true issue. My rules are:
A. Never drive without using my radar detector
B. Never drive TOO much over the limit. Four or five miles over the limits of 30-65 mph, eight miles over on interstates.
C. Never be the fastest vehicle on a given road!

I've had two speeding tickets, one in Austin, TX where my old radar detector was picking up all sorts of trash alerts in the city, so I turned it off.. and forgot to turn it back ON when I left the city. Th' cop who pulled me over looked at my dark detector on the dash and smiled.

The 2nd was here in Florida about 12 years ago when I was "in the rocking chair" as truckers said; fast cars ahead of me, fast cars behind me.. safely in the middle of the bunch. Until we all were caught by a wolf pack of one police radar unit and nine pursuit vehicles. I crested a hill, saw the multiple flashing lights up ahead, saw one last cop on the side, waiting. There was one driver ahead of me..... nope. I was selected...

I miss George.

I would honestly rather have more libs here; even if we do seem to attract the most annoying ones

The problem is that we have to "dumb down" ourselves to their level, and some of us just aren't very good at that.

It might be interesting to discuss the liberal philosophy with someone who is sincere and recognizes that no one is a purebreed of any political philosophy.
