We spent an evening there with some old friends from Taiwan a decade or so ago. It was pretty amazing. I'd like to go sometime again. It's one of the few things that would motivate me to actually get up and travel somewhere.

Lived in the metro area for several years and never went, always went to Wolf Trap.

If you never visited the Ryman in Nashville, that is worth traveling to…

Freaking decades ago in Junior High School. I have no idea what we even saw. It was a field trip of English classes. Pretty much all I remember about it.

Never went to Wolf Trap but Merriweather Post Pavilion, oh yeah. Saw Genesis (Duke Album) and someone else there. I’ll have to dig out my ticket stubs to figure out the second band.

TBH, I've never heard of either one of them. I guess I am not real big on live music venues. I think the last concert I went to was in Colonie, NY in 1969 to see the Iron Butterfly.

I don't even remember what I saw at the Kennedy Center, it was so long ago. It was a small group, maybe 8-10 musicians with string and woodwinds and they were doing some classical pieces. Maybe it was called a recital? It was in a small anteroom, not the big auditorium, and we were a small audience of maybe 50 people. I think it was by invitation, and my friend from Taiwan was some sort of bureaucrat in D.C. and wangled the invitation.

I wish my memory was better on the details. I just remember it as a very enjoyable time with a bunch of nice people. It's hell getting old.

I know the feeling. My trip was probably 20 years ago and the memories are fading.
