Are you for real?
I am done supplying links for you. I have. Numerous times.
All you have done is either hid or moved the goal posts.
Are you for real?
The argument is based on whether hate crimes are part of the civil rights laws. Imagine that. You were wrong.
They are, several statutes under the same chapter.
Not the same code...the same fucking chapter.
Federal hate crimes laws fall under Title 18, USC §249
No one claimed otherwise.
You have a similar semantic error.
Those numbers are sections. Note how civil rights laws are covered in numerous sections but are still the same body of civil rights law. They different numbers because they are different laws.

And seeing as §249 is right there with 242, 245, 247, and 248, it becomes a distinction without a difference.
I will admit - without opinion - that §249 hate crime law is more recent than the larger body of civil rights laws it is joined to.
It is ok. I expected this flailing argument.trevor wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2022, 5:40 pm Here's what you started out with: "Bullshit. We have hate crime laws today based on the expectation that people must temper their opinions to a code of behavior set by thr feelings of others.."
Me: For a hate crime prosecution there must be more than an opinion.
You: Not really.
You: The opinion is deciding if it is a crime. He said something bad to a black dude. A DA decides whether that was intended to be hateful...it is moronic.
Since then you have said one stupid thing after the next. I don't care if it was the same chapter. They are different laws and you said they were the same. You are wrong. Face it.
