Barbara Jones told U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres that she recommends letting prosecutors view most of the 1,000-plus documents gathered through search warrants for a probe into how the group received a diary purported to belong to President Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden.

Neither Project Veritas nor any of its staffers have been charged with a crime. The group says its activities were newsgathering and were ethical and legal.

Nah, their "self-reliant communes" depended largely on various gov't benefits and guilt-induced paternal generosity. They had a good billboard, but not much follow-through.

Yeah, but the Amish believed in work. Work was anathema to the Hippies. Most of them were kids who got kicked out because their parents didn't have a basement for them to live in. Sometimes drugs were the reason they got kicked out, if not, the drugs came soon thereafter. They became the media darlings much like the trans-idiots are today.

I was in San Francisco to appear as a witness in a civil trial. I was out on the front steps of the courthouse, waiting to be called, when some busy-looking guys began setting up camera tripods (no smartphones back then) and kinda nudging people to one side or the other to provide a clear shot of the front doors and logo. I asked one of the guys what was going on. He said, "There's going to be a protest." I asked, "When?" and he named the hour. I moved aside to watch, still waiting to be called.
Sure enough, on the appointed hour, a raggedy bunch of misfits showed up and began some kind of chant. It wasn't "Hey, hey LBJ" but it was something equally instructive. I didn't get to see the end because I had to go testify. I don't recall what they were protesting, but it was something of inter-galactic importance.

In the next day's newspaper, I read that there had been a "spontaneous protest" at the courthouse against some cause now forgotten.

The Inca system worked a lot like socialism. The king. Basically owned all products and surpluses were redistributed where wanted and needed.

I spend quite a bit of time each year in Peru and Chile. The mountain people who are the direct descendants of the Inca still act in a similar way.

That's not egalitarianism. It's monarchy.

Everybody I met in Peru and Chile was more or less a capitalist. They run their own businesses, do their jobs and keep the revenue/wages for themselves.

In the cities probably correct. It is the mountain people that would be different. Give you an example. Peru has elected 2 or 3 socialist presidents in the past 20 years. Very close elections with massive left wing vote from the mountainous regions..
