Re: "Yes, Government Creates Wealth"

I do not believe that corporate wealth is a gift of the government. I believe that wealth in America comes from hard work (with the possible exception of inherited wealth). Most of those hard workers are in the private sector. Some are in the public sector. The public sector provides no wealth and ...

Re: "Yes, Government Creates Wealth"

Yawn. Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me! :D I'm a free market capitalist and I've got the stocks, bonds and mutual fund portfolio invested in American corporations to prove it. Maybe, but success has to be accidental since you think corporate wealth is a gift of gove...

Re: I had better see his Ass in Handcuffs or I will completely lose faith in the Justice System

As long as the federal government is the arbiter over the federal government then you can't have justice at that level its the nature of humanity. I've always thought this is where the founders got the structure wrong. The judicial system needs to answer to the states not the union. The problem is ...

Re: Chick-fil-a in the news.

Agree. But CFA has expansion on the mind, both domestically and internationally. I see them trying to temper some of the negative views for a wider market. What negative views? The American market is far more politically volatile than any other market they would face. If you look at their website, ...

Re: Chick-fil-a in the news.

Vercingetorix, I served on a Board of Directors with the then CEO of Pier 1 Imports (during their glory years). One day in a meeting, he said something I have never forgotten: "There's a funny thing about customers, it may be Ok to make them mad once in a while, but don't piss them off." When he re...

Personally I don’t like the product, but they are a for profit business that has to compete for every customer and every dollar. Re: "Yes, Government Creates Wealth"

He's telling us the government creates LAND We are not LISTENING. He has no choice. He is invested in the idea that government when run by Democrats is the Alpha and the Omega. Unfortunately, he is the kind of asshole that when it is pointed out that X policy has never worked....will reply. It was ...

Not exactly, it was gods promise that he would never flood the earth again.

Re: "Yes, Government Creates Wealth"

Nope. The Gilded Age led America as close to socialism as we ever came. "In 1890, 11 million of the nation's 12 million families earned less than $1200 per year; of this group, the average annual income was $380, well below the poverty line. Rural Americans and new immigrants crowded into urban are...

Re: Recession or no recession that is the question.

I understand the business cycle and recessions are inevitable. The subject of this thread is whether the expected recession of 2023 has started or not. Well you missed the point. Recession based on the feelings of many people has already taken place. Recession based on the capricious and arbitrary ...
